This combined safari starts in Uganda and ends in Rwanda. On this trip expect to track the primates in Kibale national park including the chimps, vervet monkeys and other primates. You will view much of wildlife in the Queen Elizabeth national Park, and then you will track the mountain gorillas in the Land of a thousand hills Rwanda. (Parc Des Volcanoe)
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kibale Forest National park.
On arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be met and received by your driver guide from Green World safaris who will then brief you as he transfers you to Kibale forest national park (depending on your arrival time it takes about 5hours from Entebbe airport to Kibale forest national park), Lunch will depend on your arrival time. Dinner and overnight at Chimps nest lodge. (FB)
Day 2: Kibale Forest (Chimpanzee tracking) – Queen Elizabeth national park.
After your breakfast, you will be transferred to the Chimpanzee tracking information office for a pre-briefing by the ranger guide who will then lead you into the rain forest where you will spend most of the morning in search of chimpanzees. These primates are very mobile and viewing them is unpredictable but a forest walk is an enriching activity. This forest is home to a large number of chimpanzees and other primates including Lhoestes, Red-colobus, Blues, Red-tailed, grey cheeked mangabeys, birds and butterflies. The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora. Return to have your lunch at your lodge and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park following the Rwenzori Mountain range most of the journey. Day 3: Queen Elizabeth national park- Game drive and Boat cruise
After an early morning warm up tea or coffee, you will be transferred for a game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens mile in search of animals like: lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mangoose, waterbucks, kobs and, if lucky, the leopard, and over 606 bird species recorded here, this will see you return for a full breakfast, relax into the lunch break. After lunch, you will be transferred to the Mweya peninsula to enjoy a unique two hours boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This launch cruise gives you a great opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing at close range. Return for an easy evening, dinner and overnight at Bush lodge. (FB)
Day 4: Queen Elizabeth national park – Ruhegeri (Musanze district)
After an early morning warm up tea or coffee, you will transfer to Rwanda in the Volcanoes via Kisoro Kyanika border post where you will go through border crossing procedures before proceeding to arrive in Ruhenjeri Musanze district for your lunch at La Palme hotel. Relax for the rest of the day, dinner and overnight at La Palme hotel. (BB)
Day 5: Gorilla trekking (Parc National Des Volcans).
After your breakfast at 8:00am, you will be transferred to the gorilla tracking information office for a pre-briefing by the park rangers who will then lead you into the Volcans trekking this great apes. You will spend about 1hour watching these relatives of ours before returning to your hotel to relax for the rest of the day or freely take a walk to the nearby Ruhenjeri town. Dinner and overnight at La Palme hotel. (BB)
Day 6: Ruhenjeri – Kigali.
After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali arriving for your lunch at Lemigo hotel. If time allows and upon your interest, you may take a short city tour of Kigali (optional). Overnight at Lemigo hotel. (BB)
