Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Upon arrival, transfer to your lodge for a relaxing overnight stay in Entebbe. Enjoy dinner and unwind, preparing for your adventure ahead.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest NP
Take in scenic views of Uganda’s countryside, passing tea plantations and the Rwenzori Mountains. Check in at your lodge for dinner, refreshments, and a restful overnight stay.
Day 3: Explore Bigodi Wetlands
Embark on a morning walk through Bigodi Wetlands with a local guide, spotting endemic monkeys, birds, and learning about the surrounding nature and plant life. Enjoy a local lunch in Tinka, where you’ll be introduced to traditional Ugandan food.
- Optional afternoon chimpanzee tracking ($250), a quieter time for better sightings, or opt for a Top of the World Crater Lake hike ($15) or relax at the lodge’s lush gardens.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
Stop by a crater lake en route and visit a community vanilla plantation, where you’ll learn about organic vanilla production and can purchase high-quality vanilla ($2.5 per bean). Afterward, enjoy typical Ugandan street food for lunch (like Rolex or goat grill). Stop at Twin Lakes Viewpoint before arriving at your lodge.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth NP Game Drive & Boat Safari
Choose between a morning game drive or one of the following:
- Optional second chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge ($100).
- Optional lion and leopard tracking ($120), an exciting opportunity to follow predator trackers and see lions and leopards up close.
In the afternoon, embark on a Kazinga Channel Boat Safari to observe wildlife along the water’s edge.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi NP
Begin your day with either a game drive or optional lion/leopard predator tracking before proceeding to Bwindi, home of the gorillas.
Day 7: Gorilla Tracking or Community Walk
Enjoy an unforgettable day of gorilla tracking (permit $800), where you’ll get up close with these majestic creatures. For those not tracking, a guided community and nature walk can be arranged (extra cost $20 outside NP or $90 inside for birding). In the afternoon, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 8: Lake Mburo NP Safari
Travel to Lake Mburo NP for an afternoon game drive. See the iconic long-horned Ankole cattle and zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and diverse birdlife. You can also opt for horseback riding or cycling (must be pre-booked and costs extra).
Overnight at a nearby lodge.
Day 9: Transfer to Entebbe
Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Mburo NP, then head back to Entebbe, stopping at the Equator Monument and a drum factory for a lunch and photo break.
Overnight in Entebbe or fly out in the evening.
Day 10: Mabamba Swamp Bird Safari
In the morning or afternoon, take a boat safari through Mabamba Swamp to spot the rare Shoebill stork. Local guides will navigate the swamp in small canoes, giving you the best chance to see this fascinating bird.
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
