Yes. Most travelers need a Tourist Visa. It must be applied for online (https://visas.immigration.go.ug/) before arrival. It costs $50 USD.
Yes, Uganda is one of the safest countries in Africa. We have operated for 12+ years with zero security incidents. Our guides stay with you 24/7.
Yellow Fever vaccination is MANDATORY for entry. You must bring your Yellow Card. We also recommend consulting your doctor about Malaria prophylaxis.
It varies. Some families are 30 mins away; others are 4 hours deep. We request easier treks for seniors/less fit guests, but you should be able to walk on uneven terrain.
99%. The rangers track them daily. If you don't see them (extremely rare), UWA usually offers a 50% refund or a second attempt the next day.

Yes, you must be 15 years or older to trek Gorillas or Chimpanzees. Children can do alternative activities like nature walks.

Yes, our safaris are usually Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner). Drinks are often separate unless you book our Luxury tier.
US Dollars (printed 2013 or later) are best. Credit cards are accepted at lodges but carry a 5% surcharge. ATMs are available in major towns.
Yes, almost all lodges have WiFi in the main lounge areas. Some luxury lodges have it in the rooms. Note that bush speeds can be slower.
We recommend booking 3-6 months in advance, mainly to secure Gorilla Permits ($800) which sell out fast in high season.
No, we do not sell insurance directly. We strongly require all clients to arrange comprehensive travel insurance in their home country before travel.
Absolutely. Gluten-free, Vegan, Halal, or Allergies—just let us know on this form, and we inform every lodge chef in advance.
Deposits for permits are non-refundable (UWA policy). For the safari balance: 60+ days out (10% fee), 30-60 days (50% fee). We provide full terms upon booking.
Tipping is not mandatory but highly appreciated. Guideline: $15-20 per day for your driver/guide, and $5-10 for lodge staff/rangers.
We do not recommend self-drive for first-timers due to road conditions and navigation difficulty. Our guides add immense value in spotting wildlife.
Tap water is NOT safe. We provide unlimited complimentary bottled mineral water in the safari vehicle daily.
Yes, we can book scheduled flights (Aerolink) from Entebbe to national parks (Bwindi/Murchison) to save driving time.
