Uganda is great year-round. The best time for Gorilla Trekking is the dry seasons: June–August and December–February. The rains in April/May make trekking harder but offer lush photography.
Yes. Most travellers need a Tourist Visa applied for online at visas.immigration.go.ug before arrival. It costs $50 USD.

Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory for entry. Bring your Yellow Card. We also recommend consulting your doctor about malaria prophylaxis.
It varies. Some families are 30 minutes away, others 4 hours deep. We request easier treks for seniors or less-fit guests, but you should be able to walk on uneven terrain.
99%. The rangers track the families daily. If you don't see them (extremely rare), UWA usually offers a 50% refund or a second attempt the next day.

We use extended 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs for 360° game viewing. They have fridges, charging points, and guaranteed window seats.
We recommend booking 3–6 months in advance, mainly to secure gorilla permits ($800) which sell out fast in high season.
Deposits for permits are non-refundable (UWA policy). For the safari balance: 60+ days out (10% fee), 30–60 days (50% fee). We provide full terms on booking.
