Expert Advice

Everything You Need To Know

Preparing for an expedition to the Pearl of Africa.

It depends on the family you track. In Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, hikes range from 1 to 5 hours. The terrain is steep and forested, so a moderate level of fitness is recommended. We can request 'easier' families for seniors, and local porters are available ($20) to carry your pack and assist you.
Gorilla permits cost $800 per person and Chimpanzee permits cost $250. These are issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). As a licensed operator, we secure these permits on your behalf well in advance to guarantee your spot.
Yes. Most travelers require a tourist visa ($50). This must be applied for online via the official Uganda Immigration portal before you fly. We will guide you through the application process.
We strictly use extended 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers tailored for Uganda's terrain. They feature pop-up roofs for 360° game viewing, onboard fridges for cold drinks, and guaranteed window seats for every guest.
Uganda is one of the safest and friendliest countries in Africa. We have operated for 12+ years with a 100% safety record. In National Parks, you are also accompanied by armed UWA rangers for wildlife protection.
A Yellow Fever vaccination card is MANDATORY for entry into Uganda. Malaria is present, so we recommend prophylaxis (Malarone/Doxycycline) and carrying insect repellent. All our lodges provide quality mosquito nets.
